Psychological Maturity

"Gitlow (1992) named psychological maturity as a critical necessity for effective leadership, especially in these swiftly-changing times. Gitlow described the leader who harbors some sort of psychological insecurity as one who would likely choose to lead in a “traditional, hierarchal, pyramidal, top-down way” with an emphasis on authority of position. On the other hand, the leader who is emotionally secure and mature, would choose a more horizontal, diffused, participative paradigm."
